Comfortable duvets and basic breakfast provided for free. Easy to find and conveniently located near the ferry and town center.
Expensive for what it offers compared to other places in Japan. Limited bathrooms and toilets, causing potential queues.

Nice and cute hotel with favourable location close to bus stop. The staff were very-very nice and assisted with free parking. Large room and fairly clean bathroom. Location very close to the quieter port of Hanura and good restaurants and center of town.

Amazing American breakfast: The breakfast at this guesthouse is absolutely fantastic! It's like starting your day with a delicious feast fit for a king. The variety of options will leave you feeling satisfied and ready to take on the day!
Limited dining options: The only downside to this guesthouse is that finding places to eat or buy food can be a bit tricky, especially in the evening. Make sure to grab your meals before 5 pm to avoid any hungry adventures!

The triple room was comfortable and had all the essentials. The location was convenient, just a short walk from the Naoshima port terminal. The guesthouse was in a nice area, within walking distance to the port, Art House Project exhibitions, and the center of town.

During my recent transit through Naoshima, I had the opportunity to stay at Guesthouse Shell. Despite the language barrier, I found the unique communication system with post-its to be surprisingly helpful and detailed. The house was open and there were no staff around to check-in, but the post-its provided all the necessary instructions, making the check-in process straightforward.
The designated time for check-in and payment was from 8 to 9 pm, and in my case, it happened to be around 8:45 pm.

We got great value for our money at Guesthouse Shell. The room was cozy and had all the amenities we needed. The location was perfect for exploring the island and the staff was incredibly helpful and friendly.
The breakfast experience could have been improved by offering a wider variety of options.

We were able to surf the web and stay connected with our peeps back home. Plus, we got to check out the dope Art House Project exhibitions and explore the sick location close to the port. Checking in and out was easy peasy, and the facilities were clean af. We also slept like rockstars!
If there could be one thing to make our stay even more lit, it would've been cool to have some rad party vibes. Like maybe a chill common area where we could get our party on and meet other young travelers.

The guesthouse is located in a quiet area near the port, making it convenient for exploration. The rooms are nicely equipped and clean, providing a comfortable stay. Guests can enjoy the traditional tatami rooms and the simple, basic amenities. The shared toilets are well-maintained, ensuring cleanliness for all guests.
The communication with the staff is limited, as they have little English proficiency.

The best place for my stay! I keep coming back for its helpful staff who found me plug adaptors during my first visit. It suits me perfectly with Wi-Fi, free parking, laundry, and flat-screen TV. Can't wait for my next business trip!
